Digi-pack Inspiration

For our digipack we have looked at existing digipacks to influence our design. We decided to go with a 'creativity' theme for which we are using different types of mediums within the art theme such as notebooks, polaroids etc.

We got the notebook idea from 'The Streets' album cover for 'Original Pirate Material' - The digipack itself is very natural looking and though our video for 'My Air' is very hyper-real we wanted to express the process that goes on behind the scenes such as songwriting, with lyrics and planning on pieces of paper, the digipack idea kind of represents the process of coming up with the song and lyrics within the album. The cigarette ash and loose change in 'The Streets' version represents the type of genre and type of people the and have.


The scribble also suggest that it was rushed and messy, perhaps the first draft of the digipack which they then decided to keeps.

Things To Improve

We successfully superimposed our dancer onto the bandstand which is a representation of the state of mind that our main character is in. He has her on his mind though he may not be conscious of it. She is placed behind him as if he is almost walking away from his dream though his aim is to find her. It creates a frustration for the audience as he is so close to her but is unaware, plus she is portrayed as in his mind so is not physically behind him in reality but in his mind.

Target Audience

Hipsters

I created this compilation, to make it clear to us who our target audience is and their stereotypical characteristics. Hipsters are our target audience, the video describes their fashion tastes, hobbies and stereotypical dress sense. This video will also highlight common interests within the hipster sub-culture and will help us to decide how to target them with our music video, digipack and website.

Website planning

I think that this post is important becuase I need to see what my website will be looking in my head. Also the more planning you do , the easier the first version will turn out , which then can be further improved. 

This brainstorm demonstrates our initial ideas for the website and what it shall include and how it will look aesthetically.

These are our intial thoughts for who are Target Audience is, we took into consideration the Gender, Subculture and how we can appeal to them with Image.

Planning for the Shoot: Script

I believe this an important part the final product that will be our Music Promo, as some of our shots take place in a cafe, we had to look for one. We had a number of cafes in mind, mainly independent ones as staying away from large branches such as Pret a Manger and Costa proved the most sensible idea as it would make getting the permission far easier. Obviously needing permission, we scripted a phone call, that would make the conversation quick and straight to the point.
