Website Analysis

After conducting some research into artists who have been very successful in 2013 and have developed over a number of years, I have decided to analyse Justin Timberlake and his brand new album "20/20". I chose this as it has proved successful in the charts and comes with a new image for former boyband member Justin Timberlake. Justin previously served in the boy band 'N sync who formed in 1995 and rose to fame in 1996 with Justin as one of the two lead singers. After the band broke up he decided to go solo and was a huge hit in 2002 with his new album Justified.
Through the transition from 'boyband' to solo artist, Timberlake has undergone a complete change of image and has promoted himself as a 'new' self.


This Album showed a big change in his appearance as you can see from the images of him in 'N sync in the middle to his new solo album where was known for being a rapper/singer. After this album Justin turned to acting and became very well known for many films he was in like 'Alpha Dog' and 'Friends with Benefits' and now is back into music with his new album 20/20.

In his new album cover, Justin Timberlake has used a futuristic look, perhaps to represent his new image and that he looks to go on in the future using the same image. The suit and tie image could be the visual to go along with the song 'Suit & Tie' which appears on the album. It also perhaps represents the transition from youth to adult hood during his career. He is now a mature and independent Justin Timberlake.

This is the front page of the justintimberlake.com website. It shows photo of a live performance, which highlights his ongoing success and perhaps engulfs the viewers into the 'Justin Timberlake experience'. There is also a video shown at the bottom of the page that is his latest single. The website is also connected to Twitter & other social networking sites. There are links shown to all social networking available, which is a way of creating synergy across all sites.







There is a simple and easy to use menu available for users to navigate between each page on the website.

The 'Tour' tab notifies the dates and venues that he is appearing at in his solo gigs, this enables him to earn money by letting his fans know where and when he is playing. This gives his fans the information to pay for a ticket to his gig and support his future career with that money. 



The store tab also enables fans to promote Justin Timberlake; it also helps him to earn more money for his future career.




Analysing and observing existing websites, give me ideas of what to include in our own website for our unsigned band. You can determine the elements that appear on a home screen artist website, so that the website we create on Wix is accurate and fits the conventions of an artist website.
